Men's Guide
Shop owner Brigitte Chartrand goes to New York and Paris (and sometimes Montreal) to source the eclectic clothes at her Old City hotspot, which celebrates its fifth anniversary this summer. “Men are becoming interested in looking different,” says Chartrand. “For young guys, it’s more important for them to have their own look.” And if individuality is what you seek, this is the place. Shoppers on a budget can invest in timeless pieces such as the Rick Owens DRKSHDW denim jacket or the convertible blazer by Rad Hourani. Other highlights: Issey Miyake’s Final Home collection, which features pieces in a very shiny nylon, summer knits from Alexander Wang and Preen, and eye-catching graphic prints on silks and stretch fabrics.

Designer Wear
Montreal It girl Brigitte Chartrand is decidedly anti-mainstream. This season, she introduces her customers to Calla, Krystof Strozyna, Them Atelier and jewellery by Etten Eller. Chartrand recommends local boy wonder Rad Hourani’s unisex cardigan-style jacket, and can’t get enough of the Drkshdw line by Rick Owens: “His jackets, sweatshirts and leggings are all so incredibly comfortable and effortless.”
