Have mercy
This spring, Mercy (mercystudio.com), one of Canada’s best-loved brands, can be found at Nokomis (10318 82nd Ave. NW, Edmonton, 780-432-7462, nokomisclothing.ca). “It’s a beautiful collection, featuring gorgeous fabrics and cuts,” says owner Jessica Kennedy. For summer, she suggests picking up the waxed cotton trench ($320), a printed dress in Liberty of London fabric ($280) and summery separates, such as a gingham top ($230).
Shop talk
In Edmonton, check out Flur (10260 124th St., Edmonton, 780-488-0882, flur.ca), a boutique opened by Alex Bazos. Her store is filled with extraordinary accessories, like affordable bags by California’s Paulina Carcach, hand-felted scarves from Designs by Amber, and jewellery by local label Day and Night.

Why do you even bother including any Edmonton shops in this Alberta feature when oftentimes there is only one (OK, this time two) vs. four or five for Calgary. Let's face it, Calgary is more fashionable city of the two in Alberta. There is no denying it. It is almost redundant in my opinion to even mention Edmonton if you cannot find more shops to feature per magazine. And I ain't mad at you: I'm not from Edmonton, just happen to live here for now, and I've already accepted the fact that shopping is pretty lame here.

Because there is a tendency for people to dress casually here, I think that its valuable to learn of even just one place that I may not know of to go and find something nice.
I've walked around in Calgary and I don't see your point. People there do not look any better than people here. its not like Montreal or Toronto or New York or Tokyo or anywhere that people don't walk around in lululemon, the Gap or Old Navy.
But, ah....we have Anthropologie in West Edmonton Mall and that makes me happy!
