Designer Wear
The single most dazzling event in Toronto last year was the re-opening—nay, reimagining—of the one-stop luxury shop formerly known as the St. Regis Room. Flung across one half of the Bay’s third floor is a Yabu Pushelberg–designed cloud, all white and incandescent, hung with richness. Luxe-fashion obsessives die for Proenza Schouler (yes, they have the PS1 bag), Christopher Kane (the T-shirts are almost affordable), Jason Wu, John Galliano, Emanuel Ungaro (now LiLo-free), Matthew Williamson, Balmain, Calla Haynes (Canadian in Paris), Erdem (Canadian in London), Cerruti, Sonia Rykiel, Moschino, and no, that isn’t even the half of it. The undulating shoe rack boasts Brian Atwood, Barbara Bui and Bruno Frisoni, to name just the Bs. And contemporary labels such as Clu, See by Chloé, Adam and McQ by Alexander McQueen await in the adjacent White Space.
