Montreal-turned-Vancouver designer Kim-Anh Sanieya named her label Noir Bonbon (noirbonbon.ca) for her penchant for flip-flopping between an edgy, all-black uniform and a more frilly, girlie look. How appropriate, then, that her second collection includes items for both personas: the Nordic-inspired Alicia tweed sheath ($190) is flirty and feminine, while the black, cuffed tux jacket ($200), whose striped gold lining peeks through a rounded back hem, is boyfriend-inspired and perfect for fall. Other standouts from the 14-piece collection include the Mili white T-shirt with gold-buttoned military details ($55) and the Shoulder Glance top ($69) in “grey slush”—how Vancouver—made from an eco-friendly blend of soy, organic cotton and spandex. At Body Politic (208 E. 12th St., 604-568-5528, bodypolitic.ca).
