The steal
Wondering where all the hot hipster girls get their partying uniforms? Look no farther than Norwegian Wood (iheartnorwegianwood.blogspot.com, at Headquarters Galerie + Boutique, 1649 Amherst St., 514-678-2923, hqgalerieboutique.com). Angie Johnson’s fringed and feathered necklaces (shown, $65), cage skirts, print leggings and harness belts are all the rage at indie-rock shows, and soon will be across the pond too—her line will be available this fall at Edit, Topshop’s boutique of new international designers that pops up during London Fashion Week. Johnson, who started designing at 16 in Winnipeg, looks to art and vintage clothing when creating her poetic and whimsical extras. “I’m inspired by accessories that revamp what’s already in your wardrobe,” she says. “A lot of my pieces transform what you already own.” If you’re going to sport these accessories, be ready to shine: “The girl who wears my clothes is really in tune with what’s going on and is not afraid to try something new.”
