The times they are a-changin’. Despite the sequin-sprayed ready-to-wear collections, I will be rocking ruffles this holiday season, à la Antik Batik’s jewel-toned frock ($415, at The Room, the Bay, 176 Yonge St., 416-861-9111). Like sequins, ruffles instantly up the glam factor. How to do this grown-up, girlie look? Opt for a party dress with a simple silhouette to balance this whimsical trim, and when it comes to piling on jewellery, just say “no.”
