Edmonton shops: Winter notes

A local label to love and a new addition to Old Strathcona.

Double introduction

Designers Mark Sheppard and Michael Genereux are the duo behind up-and-coming label Mark Sheppard (by appointment only, marksheppard.ca), which makes its 14-piece debut this December. According to Sheppard, the anything-but-subtle collection is “cutting-edge, high-end streetwear with no glitter in sight.” The wraps, boleros and one-sleeved sheaths all feature a little heavy metal in the form of plentiful zippers. Keeping things simple with a colour scheme of silver, grey and black, the line’s pieces are easily layered and go from day to night.
