Vancouver shops: August notes
Colourful bangles, fall’s best bags and 10 minutes with shoe legend John Fleuvog.

Handcrafted enamel jewellery by Frey Wille, founded in 1951 by Austrian artist Michaela Frey, is now available at the company’s first Canadian store (511 Howe St., frey-wille.com). Inspired by art, pieces are set in palladium or rhodium, or made of solid 18-karat gold and diamonds. What drew me in, though, was the use of colour, and the way all of the pieces—particularly these skinny Joy Ultra bangles (shown, $780 each)—are subtle yet statement-making.
