The death of the It Bag (a blessing, I think) means more room for unique style statements, such as a handbag from the Kara James collection (karajamesbags.com). Calgary’s Erinn Ogston and Cara Sinclair have designed eight classic, season-bridging leather bags — all with interchangeable shoulder straps and “bag belts,” so you can update your satchel. My pick is the Ella (left, $485).
