Mass Market

After a successful run this spring, Vancouver’s Portobello West is holding its sophomore Calgary market this month (September 12 to 14, Big Four Building, portobellowest.com). Look for wares by Vancouver and Alberta designers—I’ll be grabbing the handmade Molly clutch by Calgary’s Natalie Gerber (shown, $45 each, nataliegerber.ca).

Joanne and her shop, Edit, have brought something to Lethbridge that its needed for quite some time. Joanne, herself, is bubbly and personable, and that is reflected in Edit. The clothing, accessories are unique and often one of a kinds, thus breaking away from the "clone" looks of everyone who shops at "the mall".

I have shopped at Joanne's shop (Edit) since she first opened. Joanne is great, super personable and friendly..and her shop is extraordinary! She has a great eye for what is fashionable and fun, while keeping up with high standards including environmental impact and Canadian made. The fidelity jeans are fantastic and the kids T-shirts are totally cool and different. It is great to have something like this in Lethbridge, Edit is even better than many similar Calgary boutiques.
