Montreal Shops: Winter Notes
Shirine Saad loves vintage, shoes and hip new stores.
New obsessions: Leora
When costume designer Nicole Pelletier, who dressed Catherine Deneuve in 1979’s À Nous Deux, wondered what to do with all of her precious finds from various countries and centuries, she decided to open a vintage store. At Leora (859 Rachel St. E., 514-792-5962), named after Pelletier’s young granddaughter, there are fine-feathered hats, velvet ’30s dresses, ’50s wool skirts and a mad collection of jewels. I fell for an ’80s Mugler suit and Versace belt.
