Studio Beaute Du Monde

Review:

Manicures and pedicures
Known for its traditional hammam in the heart of downtown, Beauté du Monde offers one of the most luxurious pedicures in the city. The 80-minute Oriental Foot Care treatment ($89) begins with black soap and steam, followed by a vigorous scrub with a traditional Moroccan glove, then a second exfoliation with alum stone, a natural antiperspirant, followed by a layer of shea butter topped with argan oil on the cuticles before a hot wrap, massage and polish. Manicures from $25, pedicures from $44.

Moroccans have been reaping the beauty benefits of hammam baths for centuries, and now so can you, by visiting one of Montreal’s truly traditional hammam spas. The namesake treatment ($127) includes black-soap exfoliation, a body wrap with rassoul mud, perfumed-oil application, and access to the relaxation room. For an exotic experience, ask for the “oriental” makeup application or a henna hand tattoo. End your voyage with true Moroccan hospitality by enjoying a mint tea and treats.
