Owner and designer Josée-Anne Trudel has scoped the trends in California, Brazil and Europe, and says, “This year, it’s all about bling.” That means lots of gold embellishments or trim, from California label L*Space and Trudel’s own brand, Nana. Solid colours like red, royal blue and “big-bird yellow” are intense in high-shine materials. And mixing and matching is a “must.” So don’t be afraid to pair one of Trudel’s black-and-white polka-dot bottoms with a green-and-violet striped top, or even mix animal prints with florals or oversized houndstooth.
