A new store in Coquitlam Centre proves that this chain (with 14 stores in B.C. and Alberta) is still a go-to for reliable, stylish swimwear. Opened in the 1970s by Corinne Forseth, the company is now run by her daughter, Lori Bacon, who launched the Feel Good Half Naked blog this year (blog.swimco.com). Her picks? Ruffles and ruching, mini dots, animal prints and “animal print derivatives” (animal prints combined with other prints or in non-traditional colours). Retro-chic looks endure; Jantzen’s ’60s-inspired Vamp suit is a perennial top seller.
