Vida Wellness Spa

Editorial Review

Hair removal
A brand-spankin’-new spa at the Westin Bayshore in Coal Harbour marks this spa’s fifth location (stop by the Whistler or Seattle spots on your next visit). A West Coast design theme ensures comfort for both women and men (many of whom have become followers of the spa’s unique nose and ear grooming service!), and every visit—even if it’s just a wax job—is a full spa experience as opposed to a quick fix. Decompress in the lounge with warm tea and trail mix, and once your waxing begins, relax in the hands of experienced aestheticians, who never double-dip spatulas. The treatment concludes with a Vida product that disinfects the area and reduces redness. Bikini from $35, Brazilian, $85.

Harmonizing body, mind and spirit is the mission of this urban oasis spa. With a focus on health benefi ts and natural elements, the spa offers Ayurvedic treatments that cater to your personal “dosha” (determined by your health and lifestyle). Sip cucumber water in a tranquil lounge, then enjoy a customized treatment to achieve balance—all in just a couple of hours. We love the Ayurvedic Swedana ($190), which begins with a full body and head massage. Next, you’ll head into the West Coast–cedar steam cabinet to detoxify and cleanse your system, and the treatment finishes with a dry-brush exfoliation to stimulate you back to reality.
