You know the Cannes Film Festival is underway when glamorous photos of Hollywood’s biggest stars at premieres, photo calls and fashionable parties pretty much take over the Internet. Being only three days into the festival, A-listers (along with international stars) are not holding back on the glam factor and taking the Cannes 2014 red carpet by storm in some of the best looks of the year.

The film festival opened up with the premiere of the much-anticipated biopic, Grace of Monaco with Nicole Kidman at the lead of well-dressed attendees. Possibly inspired by the French Riviera, the Australian actress donned a bejewelled Armani Privé gown that got the sea of photographers feverishly snapping their cameras away.

Cate Blanchett has been knocking it out of the park outfit after outfit since the beginning of the year. After a royal soirée with Prince William (and other English Roses: Emma Watson, Cara Delevingne and Kate Moss) at Windsor Castle earlier this week, the Oscar-winning actress jet set to Cannes to join the film festivities. Continuing her streak of opulent dresses, Blanchett presented the annual Trophée Chopard award in a glittery Valentino gown to an equally dazzling Adele Exarchopoulos.

But when it comes to show stopping, no one gets heads turning like blonde bombshell Blake Lively. As the ambassador of Gucci, the actress arrived at the Opening Ceremony in an elegant bordeaux red dress by the fashion house, with a high slit that so conveniently showed off those legs for days. However, the actress truly blew us away on day two in a mermaid-esque couture dress by Chanel. Talk about a real-life Barbie!

With the festival stretching over a period of 12 fashionable days, we know we’re going to be sartorially satisfied with stars kicking it off in fashion-forward day ensembles and glamorous evening attires in just the first couple of days. Be sure to check our gallery for your daily dose of red carpet glamour because with Cannes arguably being the biggest film festival of the year, you definitely don’t want to miss this season’s best-dressed celebrities.
