Resort wear has always been geared towards the fashion elite, or at least to those who lead a luxurious life that entails travelling to somewhere warm and tropical during the unbearably cold winter months, especially when resort heavyweights include Chanel, Dior and Oscar de la Renta. However, with more and more contemporary designers adding the vacation-inspired collection to their repertoire, Resort collections are becoming a bigger part of the fashion industry, and are thus naturally more coveted by the masses. It also helps to have A-list stars rocking envious resort ensembles as of late. Note: Resort collections aren’t actually available in store until November/December, unless you’re one of these top 10 celebrities.

Being one of the first fashion houses to showcase its Resort 2015 collection (in Brooklyn!), it comes as no surprise to see some of the Dior ambassadors as the first to step out in resort wear. Charlize Theron and Alexa Chung both donned summer-appropriate little black dresses, while Natalie Portman kept cool in a breezy white dress from the Resort 2015 collection at the Shanghai Miss Dior exhibition. But no one comes close to rocking  as many Dior pieces (while making our hearts flutter) as Jennifer Lawrence, who wore a range of Dior items at the Cannes Film Festival, including a colourful, casual resort outfit while out and about in south of France.

While it seems like Dior was the go-to for all things resort for many celebs, other stars were also getting in on the resort action in other designer brands. During the 2014 CFDA Awards, we were surprised to see Blake Lively in something other than Gucci (she is the brand ambassador, you know), and instead arrived in a 60s-inspired sequined Michael Kors dress with the dapper designer by her side. Further proving celebs get first dibs on off-the-runway pieces, Cate Blanchett wore a black dress with a multi-coloured bodice from the uber-luxe Dubai-inspired Chanel Cruise 2015 collection at the Australian premiere of How To Train Your Dragon 2. But if this was a competition to see who which red carpet star was the fastest to wear a piece fresh from the runway, first place would have to be given to no other than Cara Delevingine who was already seen sporting a superhero-printed jumpsuit at the Stella McCartney Resort 2015 launch party. Some people just have all the luck.
