Wraiths and spectres of all kinds haunted the fall runways. At Altuzarra, eyes were rimmed with “spooky” grey shadow and an ominous reddish blur; models wore a “ghostly” pallor and eerily shining eyes at Mary Katrantzou; Gareth Pugh’s soot-washed damsels looked as if they’d just entered the netherworld through a burning house; and nails were scrawled with “redrum” at The Blonds, a nod to The Shining. In a flurry of florals, (Harry) Styles spottings and yes, digi prints, London Fashion Week has come to a close for Spring 2014. It’s been a slice, or rather, several, with many of the city’s young talents stepping up the world stage with clever reworks on the city’s signature style. Crisp femininity was more present than ever, proving perhaps that London’s finest are ready to lose the more is more street look its residents are famous for.

Heartbreak is missing your first Christopher Kane show. But such was the case yesterday, not for lack of some hair-pulling cross town traffic, seriously herculean in-heels strides and fake doorman tears made by yours truly. Alas, the show went on to be the hit of London Fashion Week, bringing forth yet another translation of the female form for spring. Here are a few of yesterday’s options for us ladies come next season: A flower, a disco-ball, yes, we’re going there for Spring 2014.
While we’ve seen both Blake Lively and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley flaunt their gorgeous figures in statement mini dresses, the two blonde bombshells proved that they can take a midi skirt and make it look just as sexy and elegant on the red carpet.
Accompanying her husband, Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively attended the premiere of the animated film Turbo in New York City last night. While the couple both wore Burberry, Lively inevitably turned heads in a fresh summery ensemble. Contrasting Reynolds’ midnight-blue suit, the former Gossip Girl star wore a simple sheer grey tank top and a white form-fitting pencil skirt with crystal embellishments from Burberry Prorsum’s Resort 2014 collection. She also elongated the appearance of her legs by opting for a pair of nude pointed-toe heels by Christian Louboutin. Adding to the sparkles, she accessorized with rose cut diamond earrings and 18 karat white, pink and yellow gold rings by Lorraine Schwartz. (The perfect complement to her super-sized engagement ring and wedding band!) Lively showed off her natural beauty with minimum makeup and kept things effortless with her hair down in soft waves and subtle pink lips. Read more »
Burberry seems utterly love struck lately. Showing us their romantic side with the recent launch of the Burberry Kisses virtual app, the brand’s chief creative officer, Christopher Bailey follows up with a Brit love story campaign for the latest season.

Introducing Burberry kisses: The virtual app that allows you to send a kiss through the web…for real!
From Google Glass on the DVF runway to e-comm startups rivaling Silicon Valley, high-end fashion and technological advancements seem closer than ever.
At the forefront of the digital world, Burberry has collaborated with Google on their latest innovation: Burberry Kisses. Send a smooch. It’s as simple as that.
With the use of your desktop camera or direct lip contact on your touch screen device, the innovative kiss recognition technology essentially allows Google Chrome and smartphone users to send digital letters that are sealed with their very own kiss to loved ones all over the world. Seriously!
Burberry’s chief creative officer, Christopher Bailey expresses his thoughts on translating emotions we experience in the world into the digital space. “Burberry Kisses began with the idea of giving technology a bit of heart and soul, and using it to unite the Burberry family across the world – by telling a story that makes the digital personal.”
Working hand in hand with Google Earth and Street View technologies, Burberry kisses are captured on a real-time interactive map allowing us to see these digital kisses being sent around the world. We will also be able to see which cities are sending and receiving the most love via Burberry’s Kisses.Burberry.com.
Featuring city skylines and romantic background music, the short video, starring British models Charlotte Wiggins and Rob Pryor, shows us how to capture, send and share our kisses via the digital world.
