For many celebrities, making the rounds on the couture circuit is part of the job description. While there were plenty of A-list stars sitting front row at the latest Fall 2014 Couture week (we spotted Kim Kardashian, Kate Hudson, Pink and Jared Leto!), five of Hollywood’s hottest actresses (who also happen to top best-dressed lists on a regular basis) stood out at the celeb-packed shows. So to celebrate the end of a stellar fashion week, we present you Queen of Fall 2014 Couture Week: A roundup of our five best dressed front row attendees, from J.Lo to KStew.

J’adore Dior’s golden girl, Charlize Theron, pretty much embodied her role as the perfume’s spokeswoman showing up in a glittering metallic-gold mini dress. And with a handsome-looking arm candy in tow (ahem, Sean Penn), we don’t see why she shouldn’t be crowned today’s Couture Queen. But fellow Dior ambassador Jennifer Lawrence, who looked particularly summery thanks to her tan, caused just as much buzz at the Fall 2014 Couture show. Dressed in her second Resort outfit of the summer, she hit all the right notes, from the textured asymmetrical hairstyle down to her two-tone accessories. And as if we couldn’t love her more, this also happened. Read more »

Resort wear has always been geared towards the fashion elite, or at least to those who lead a luxurious life that entails travelling to somewhere warm and tropical during the unbearably cold winter months, especially when resort heavyweights include Chanel, Dior and Oscar de la Renta. However, with more and more contemporary designers adding the vacation-inspired collection to their repertoire, Resort collections are becoming a bigger part of the fashion industry, and are thus naturally more coveted by the masses. It also helps to have A-list stars rocking envious resort ensembles as of late. Note: Resort collections aren’t actually available in store until November/December, unless you’re one of these top 10 celebrities. Read more »

Bold hair, don’t care: 10 dramatic celebrity hair transformations

If we were to name our favourite kind of celebrity news, dramatic hair transformations would be high on that list. Though it comes as no surprise to hear that some of our fave celebs are changing up their looks for film roles (it’s in the job description, you know), we’d be lying if we said celebrity hair transformations don’t faze us from time to time. So whether the A-listers are going from long to short or from blonde to red, we’re all for it.

There’s no question short hair was a clear celebrity trend last year with Jennifer Lawrence and Anne Hathaway making the change from long to short. But judging from the latest celebrity hair transformations, this trend is here to stay. While Taylor Swift went for the drastic change earlier this year, chopping off her Rapunzel-like hair and opting for a bob style instead (possibly inspired by her IRL BFF Karlie Kloss?), the most recent (and surprising!) celeb to go short is Jennifer Aniston. Known for her wavy blonde hair, she shocked fans by debuting a sleek lob in a soft brown hue. Read more »

After nearly three full weeks of glitz and glamour, the 67th Annual Cannes International Film Festival is sadly over, cold turkey. If you, like us, are struggling through day one sans Cannes, fear not because we have just the thing to combat glamour withdrawal. In the spirit of festival competition, and an attempt to fill that Cannes-shaped hole in your heart, may we present, Queen of Cannes: A fashion roundup.

Five fashion powerhouses stood out amongst the plethora of worthy candidates at this year’s festival. Off the Richter web buzz ensued over Blake Lively’s style during the festival. From the burgundy Gucci Premiere dress she wore to the festival’s opening ceremony to the black and white gown she wore to the premiere of The Captive, Lively proved she could hold her own as the (potential) Queen of Cannes. Also showing off her fashion queen qualifications, Cate Blanchett never fails to amaze us in the sartorial department from channeling her inner déesse in a champagne-toned Giorgio Armani Privé form-fitting lace gown to working a bedazzled Givenchy couture dress. While Jennifer Lawrence was back to stunning us in Dior Couture ensembles, Jessica Chastain experimented with bold-coloured gowns that naturally blew us away. But if we were to call out one A-list who arguably wore the most unique dress of the entire festival, it would have to be Marion Cotillard. The cinema darling donned a Maison Martin Margiela Couture dress encrusted with tiny random objects like screws and bits of beer cans. All of the curious sequins were found at flea markets in Brussels and Paris, and the unusual dress took 67 hours to create.
