When Diane Von Furstenberg hit the scene back in the ’70s, her wrap dress was the most significant piece in any working woman’s wardrobe. “Feel like a woman, wear a dress,” she often said. What she really meant was “Feel like a woman, while calling the shots like a man.” How fitting it is to see history’s most “real world” Royal sporting one of those iconic dresses today. And digging earth at that!

Earlier today, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited Australia’s Blue Mountains. The rugged natural region is a hotspot for adventure-seekers and brushfires alike, the latter of which damaged over 200 properties in the area last year. Arriving by helicopter (Kate’s hair was in a pony for the ride, just FYI), the ever-dutiful couple met with brushfire victims and first responders as well as some adorable Girl Guides who opted to say “princess” instead of “cheese” for their Kate Middleton photo op. The couple also partook in a tree planting ceremony where Kate put that DVF to good use, as she dug some space for the red eucalyptus planted to commemorate last year’s damage.

Sorry, we’ve been staring at Prince George’s chunky little legs all morning. Even Kate Middleton called him a “very podgy baby” this week (a posh way of saying pudgy, really) and who are we to disagree? That kid has adorable on lock! Which is probably why yesterday the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge spent their last day in New Zealand away from the public, doing their own thing with Baby George. However, today the royal tour is back on, and with it, two new looks from Kate Middleton. Read more »

It was a very busy weekend for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge—but busy is always welcome for those of us obsessed with the royals, especially when you consider that Kate Middleton had 5 outfit changes! We have photos of every single look in our massive Kate Middleton style gallery, but here’s a rundown of what the royals got up to in New Zealand.

On Saturday, the Cambridges went to Cambridge! The couple toured the town and met with locals who lined the streets. Kate debuted a new coat by Erdem—a bright green, knee-length coat with front zip from the Pre-Fall 2013 collection. She paired it with a floral print tea dress by Suzannah, though only the hemline was visible. Knowing Kate, we’ll likely see this dress in full at some point in the future. Since when doesn’t she wear an item more than once? Read more »

Kate Middleton goes normcore and casually beats William in a yacht race

Today the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took to this high seas, competing in a friendly competition with New Zealand’s national yacht racing team. They got to wear sleek life jackets and normcore-approved windbreakers and hats, overtop their usual “Royals, they’re just like us!” casualwear. For Kate Middleton, this means Zara skinny jeans and a Breton stripe scoop neck shirt from Me + Em, a London-based retailer. And, because she was indeed on a boat, Kate wore a pair of tan and white Sebago boat shoes. Our favourite part of the whole outing was when Kate won the yacht race and was all ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ at Price William as she sailed past him. Go Kate! Read more »

What’s better than a Kate Middelton appearance? Two Kate Middleton appearances! Earlier today, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited New Zealand’s South Island, where Kate was spotted in a sleek cornflower blue Alexander McQueen coatdress.

Tonight (a.k.a earlier today, given that good ole 16 hour time difference), she continued her bouncy-haired flawlessness at a state reception in Wellington for some royal mingling and the unveiling of a new Queen Elizabeth portrait (she too is looking fierce in cornflower blue). After a few short hours presumably hanging with baby and baby daddy, Middleton re-emerged in a bespoke black crepe cocktail number by Jenny Packham. The dress’s right shoulder was embroidered with silver beading in the shape of New Zealand’s national emblem, a silver fern. The Duchess wore her Jimmy Choo Cosmic pumps, a Mulberry clutch and the diamond earrings and bracelet Prince William gave her as a wedding present. She looks great. What else is new?

Today’s tour itinerary brought the royals to New Zealand’s South Island, with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visiting the Blenheim War Memorial and stopping to greet the many local faces who lined up to meet them. Blue is one of Kate Middleton’s favourite colours to wear (just scroll through our complete gallery of her every look to see what we mean) and rightfully so: look how flattering that cornflower blue coat is! The piece is a custom design from Alexander McQueen, combining elements from two belted crepe coats available this season. The stunning colour, however, is all Kate—or perhaps was a suggestion from designer Sarah Burton, who clearly knows how to make the duchess shine. Read more »

Big day, guys! Prince George had his first official royal engagement this morning: he attended a playgroup with the Royal New Zealand Plunket Society. It’s a group that supports families and babies down under and hopefully they all got some training on how to not drop your child the moment Kate Middleton appears, as we’re pretty sure that would be our reaction.

In true Kate style, the duchess looked flawless in a printed dress by Tory Burch that was both playful and perfectly suited for a royal appearance. It’s Kate’s first time wearing Tory Burch, and devoted followers of her wardrobe choices have speculated that the black and white print is what made her choose this look, as those are the official colours of New Zealand. The dress is, of course, already sold out, though should you be able to get your hands on one, its stretch fabric and textured fringe make it an ideal item for wearing around dozens of babies. Bonus: it coordinated quite well with George’s ah-dor-able navy blue smocked dungarees, which were by British designer Rachel Riley. Read more »

Kate Middleton channels Jackie O in New Zealand (Plus, look at those cheeks on Prince George!)

And we’re off! The royal tour of Australia and New Zealand has officially begun, with Kate, Will and Prince George arriving at Wellington Airport yesterday afternoon. It was our first IRL glimpse of the little prince since his christening last fall and that baby did not disappoint. (Case in point: He already has his own grumpy baby face meme.)

Also in the not disappointing us department was Kate Middleton, whose scarlet-red ensemble was a certainly a nod to Jackie Kennedy’s signature style. The military button coat was by Catherine Walker, who designed many outfits for Princess Diana but we’ve only seen Kate wear her twice before—both times during her tour of Canada in 2011. The coat was paired with a matching red dress and Gina Foster pillbox hat. Its placement is probably what evokes the most comparisons to Jackie O—seriously, if you squint at this Instagram you could mistake it for a photo from the ’60s!—with the hat resting at the crown of Kate’s head, her hair neatly tucked half-up underneath.
