New family portraits have been released on the eve of Prince George’s first birthday and we’re absolutely smitten. (what else is new) Though the public is seeing them for the first time, the family portrait, photographed by Press Association photographer John Stillwell, was actually taken a few weeks ago when the Royal family visited Sensational Butterflies exhibition at the National History Museum before heading over to Wimbledon.
Both candid photos show the Royal family in an informal setting, happily observing and pointing out the many butterflies fluttering around. One photo shows the family looking up in the same direction with Georgie adorably reaching into the air, but we can’t stop smiling at the second picture where the trio is sitting on a bench with the curious little prince on Kate Middleton’s lap ready to touch the Blue Morpho butterfly resting on his father’s hand.
